Jade in Milan: The birth of a "Main Pop Girl"

There was a lot of curiosity to see how Jade would fare on her own outside the UK, and what she did last night at Fabrique was a statement of intent. It wasn't your typical ex-girlband member concert trying to find her footing; it was a dark, electronic, and frighteningly confident declaration of intent.

From the moment the lights went down and the stage (an industrial structure filled with red neon and low-resolution screens) began to vibrate, it was clear that Jade wasn't playing it safe. She opened the show with a bang with " Angel Of My Dreams ," and the club nearly erupted.
Seeing her in a black leather Ferragamo outfit, moving with incredible precision in the choreography, reminded you that she is, quite possibly, the best performer of her generation. The setlist was short but killer, weaving together the singles we already know with unreleased tracks from her debut album that sounded like a luxurious rave.

But the real highlight of the night, the one that left us all speechless, was when she stepped off the stage and stood right in the middle of the room. Without any barriers, surrounded by the crowd, she sang an acoustic song that completely broke with the club aesthetic and gave us goosebumps; it was a powerful connection you don't expect at a show of this caliber. After that intimate interlude, the energy exploded again when she switched to a more experimental Diesel sound for the final set.

The "Fantasy" performance was the highlight, with a light show that transformed Fabrique into a Berlin club in seconds. It closed with an extended version of their first single, leaving us with the feeling of having witnessed the birth of a global star in a small venue before they make the leap to stadiums. Milan was witness: the wait was worth it.
